A Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah
Kautal Hore, has sent a final warning to Femi Fani-Kayode, a former
minister of aviation, over insults on the Fulani race.
Leadership reports that Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, the national president of the association, issued the warning on Wednesday, November 4, after consultation with the south-west organisations’ leaders in Abuja.
The leader of the group said Fani-Kayode had earlier described all the Fulani herdsmen as ‘tse-tse fly, locust, leeches’. He also recalled that the ex-minister had called for the ban of herdsmen from Southern Nigeria.
Bodejo warned Fani-Kayode that if he did not apologise to the Fulani race, the association would take legal action against him.
“We want Femi Fani-Kayode to publicly withdraw his hate speech and wrongful criminal allegation against the entire Fulani race,” he said.
Speaking further, Bodejo called on President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration to ensure that peace and tranquility prevail in the country.
According to the association, the federal government (FG) should employ measures, if some Nigerians make public utterances that can breach public peace in any manner.
“We want FG to deal with anybody no matter highly place in Nigeria if they did not guide their utterances.”
Shortly after the abduction of the former secretary to the federal government of Nigeria, Chief Olu Falae, Fani-Kayode objurgated the Fulani herdsmen for the kidnap and cited reasons why they should be evacuated from the Southern part of Nigeria.
