OMG! President Buhari Lists 11 Key Things New Ministers Must Abide By Ahead Of Wednesday’s Swearing In


Ahead of the swearing in of the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday November 11, President Mohammed Buhari has given the ministers 11 key rules which they must abide by to fit into his cabinet.

He gave these rules to the cabinet members at their retreat which ended at the weekend, cautioning against flamboyance in their conduct or spending.

According to a document obtained by The Nation, some of the dos and don’t are:

1. foreign travels must be duty-related;

2. ministers must operate within lean resources;

3. no more flamboyance;

4. strict adherence to the rule of law;

5. compliance to Civil Service Rules;


6. living above board;

7. cooperation with Permanent Secretaries;

8. no more rancour between ministers and ministers of State;

9. appointment of some aides should be from the civil service;

10. drastic reduction of vehicles in convoys;

11. and all decisions must lead to change.

The President also added that they are expected to reduce the vehicles in their convoys to a reasonable level to save cost.

Also, copies of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations were given to the ministers. The President stated that he expected that they complied with the rules as any infractions, impunity or abuse of due process will be punished accordingly.
